Mother Son Night at School

We just got back from Mother Son night at school tonight. It was pretty fun. We started out by having a picnic in the grassy area-hot dogs, frito chips, cookies and lemonade. The boys and I scarfed our food-we were starving. Then the boys took off with their friends for a little bit-yes, I know, it is supposed to be a mom-son night but they needed to burn off some energy. I got a chance to talk to a few of the moms-I actually worked with one at EECU years and years ago. And another mom I had gone to Clovis High with and now she goes to our church (well at least the AWANA nights) Small world huh! Afterwards, there was a water balloon toss-we were out first throw. Then it was time to go inside the cafeteria for the reptile guy. The boys loved it!! They got to see hissing cockroaches, lizards, a skink, iguana's, turtles and a few snakes-one was huge. Camden tried so hard to get picked to help, but there were several big kids sitting infront of him and I do not think the guy could see him well. Bay, ofcourse, did not raise his hand. Cam was actually so disappointed, he almost started crying. It was kind of funny-a kid got chosen to help-he went up on stage but when the reptile guy pulled the animal from the cage, the kid took off back down by mom. Everyone was chuckling. Pretty funny. After the show, the evening came to an end. The boys were whining-definitely time to go. We were walking to the car and Bay looked up at me and said,"mom, I had a good time with you but I wish it was a dance so we could have danced together." So sweet. And Cam looks up at me and says," Mom, I had fun with you too. Can we do this next year?" Too sweet. And then on the way home, Bay was asking who I had a crush on when I was his age. Seriously could not remember. We talked about crushes till we got home then both boys proposed to me (for like the 90th time) never gets old. Then more questions about when do I think they will find the person they are supposed to marry and have kids with. I keep telling them not to grow up too fast. They are too young for girlfriends and Bay informs me he is almost in 3rd grade and that I had crush on a boy when I was in 3rd grade so he is at the perfect age. So, then it was talking and telling daddy what they saw and what we did. All in all, I think they had a great night. I know I did. Oh, how I love those little monkeys.
