Yesterday was a little award program for Camden. I would not really call it a program but more of Mrs. Erickson (the principal) calling names and the kids going up to the front to get them. I was so hoping for a kindergarten graduation but they do not do that here. It was quite cute though watching the kids go claim their "rewards" (as Cam calls them) Dave was able to take the whole day off of work to come and watch and then to do something special as a family. Camden received all awards. He earned the "ABC" award-for knowing all uppercase and lowercase letters and sounds," 123" Award-for knowing his numbers, writing them and correct sequence, "Spelling Bee" award-for reading and writing all 30 kindergarten sight words, and the "Principal's Medallion"-for reading and passing comprehension of level 3 DRA. The only award he did not receive was for perfect attendance-which , in my book, will probably never happen and its not a big deal. We are all so proud of him and all he has learned this year. He is so excited about 1st gade. I am first looking forward to a break.
