Scrapping Time

The boys spent the night at grandma and grandpas house last night so Dave and I got to sleep in this morning.Nice!!! I miss sleeping-even thought we were both awake by 7:30, it was still nice. Dave started working on winding more coils for his project so I ran to my scraproom and got busy. Here is one of the pages I just finished. I have a 2 page layout that is almost done-its drying right now and I am working on another one of the boys sleeping-2nd night at Disneyland. Hopefully I can finish it before the boys get home. I hope they had a good time. It is so eerie when they are gone.It is way too quiet in the house. I so look forward to having time with Dave and a little time to myself but at the same time, I miss them and I miss them dearly. But after about 15 minutes of them returning home, I am sometimes ready for them to head back to grandma and grandpas. I guess that is pretty normal-I hope so. Well, I am off to try and finish that page.

Bay's Creation

Bailey loves to build with legos so much-especially if they are Star Wars or Indiana Jones legos. He especially loves all the different types of troopers and the different droids. He does such a great job with all he builds.Very talented-but I am not biased or anything. Love that big boy.

January's Submission

This was my first submission for the scrapbook store (January's) The paper is from the kit they gave me to use. It was a bit of a challenge because of the odd colors. Not my favorite line but the picture totally makes it work. His little face is just too much. How can so much personality end up in one little cutie? It is now hanging up in the scrapbook store along with my other 12x12 layout and my chipboard mini album. I cannot wait till next months kit. Hopefully its one of my favorite companies.

Alpha

Last night we had our first Alpha Class. It was great. I actually felt comfortable enough to share-which is weird because Dave is the talker in the family. We had tri-tip, mashed potatoes with cheese, salad, french bread and brownies for dinner. YUM!!! We also met several different couples. Two seemed pretty cool. The boys had a great time playing with their friends-free babysitting cannot be beat. It was a little late when we got home and the boys were exhausted. Wednesday night they were up late (AWANA) and then last night so hopefully they will get some sleep this weekend otherwise they can get pretty grumpy.Cannot wait till next week.

VIP

This week is Bay's week to be Very Important Trailblazer (aka Super kid of the week) He made this poster to show his "favorites" and his drawings. We also have about a dozen pictures that Mrs. Douglas puts up in the classroom, 2 trophies, his favorite book and a postcard he got from daddy when he was in Virginia. He is pretty stoked about this week. He could not wait to work on his poster this weekend. We are so proud of how he is doing in school. Almost every single paper he brings home has a 100% or only missed 1. I tell you, he is pretty darn smart. He is already bringing home homework I have to look up on the computer (I do not remember) or daddy has to help (math-problem solving I suck at) So here's to you Mr. VIP

First Eye Appointment

The boys had their first eye appointment thursday. Boy, that was a long morning. $70.00 and 3 hours later, we were done. Camden's vision was great. He has had a little spot at 6 o'clock on his left eye that his doctor wanted checked out. He wanted to rule out a mole or keyhole pupil. But, luckily, his eye is fine. I actually got to look thru a
microscope thing and see the spot up close. It looks like a zipper. The doctor assured me that his eye is fine. It looks to be only cosmetic. It is just an incomplete pupil. Bailey has to get glasses. The doctor thinks it might just be "2nd grade syndrome". She said alot of kids have to get glasses in 2nd grade but by 3rd or 4th grade, their eyes have corrected themselves and they do not need them anymore. Bay is actually pretty excited about getting glasses. So this next week, I have to find someone that carries our specific plan because Bay says he needs the glasses NOW. All in all, they did such a great job-especially for the amount of time we were there. Bailey wanted to go back to class but Camden tried to go to class but since they dilated their eyes, Camden was having alot of trouble with his eyes so he spent the rest of the day with me.It was so freaky looking at them with their eyes dilated so much. It was almost pure black-scary. Bay thought it was kind of cool but he was ticked off that he could not read the books he brought. Camden did not like it. He wanted to see normally again. We have to go back in two months for a follow up. I am pretty proud of how well they did.

Its Time

So we are starting our journey once again. For the next several months, we will be monitoring and finding a great specialist and getting things set up with the insurance company. We have been wanting one more child for about 3 years now and so we are officially doing something about it. I am very excited but at the same time, very scared and nervous. Knowing that I could miscarry again or have another tubal, the fear of loss is sometimes a bit overwhelming. Or not knowing if we will be able to get pregnant again. Its a little scary and a feeling of not being in control that I struggle with. I would love to just be able to get pregnant on our own with no "help" and not have to pay but this is how it is and we have to do what it takes. So we are asking for prayers thru this process. Prayers of peace thru this and of hope that it will happen. Its kind of scary being on a time limit but we only have a year or two to try and also financially, its not cheap. I know God is in control and our future has already been set but human nature takes over sometimes. So, just needing prayers....

First Spelling Test

We finally got our computer back. Ofcourse, they did not fix everything but I can use the internet once again.
Camden had his first spelling test last friday and received 100% on it. He was so proud of himself. He has been wanting to have a spelling test at school because big brother always has one and he has been practicing taking them for a while now. We are so proud of him.

I Made It !!!

I received a very exciting e-mail yesterday evening. It was from Megan and Janice (the owners of Pocketful Of Treasures) I made the Design Team !!!! I was having a crappy day and then this email cheered me up so incredibly much. I seriously did not think I made it because I had not heard back from them and lo and behold this beautiful email shows up in my inbox. So this morning I had to go pick up my first kit and ofcourse take a picture with Megan and Janice. They are the sweetest people. KLOVE is always playing in the background and they always have great specials going on. SO, I am off to create...

Boys Live Here

This is what my house usually looks like. Sporadic areas of lined up toys ready to battle each other. Some days it drives me absolutely crazy trying not to step on or knock them over. Some days I love it-knowing this will not last long. Knowing that in a few years, they will be more interested hanging out at the mall or the movies with their friends. I am so grateful for this moment of time in their lives. Let the battles begin

Reading Time

I walked into the living room this morning and this is what I saw. How cute is that? This is the first book he read by himself-almost all of it. He loves it. I am so thankful both my boys love to read. I remember lying on my bed after school and reading away. I could finish a Nancy Drew book in a few hours even in 3rd grade. I loved to read and recently started reading again. I have read a handful of Nicholas Sparks books just within the last 3 months-which is more than I have read since having kids. I just love his books even though they usually end sadly and I end up crying-ofcourse only when no one is home. I am so glad to have reconnected with reading again.

I've Been Scrapping part 2

Here are the rest. The other day I was looking thru one of my scrapbook magazines for inspiration and came across a short article written by Polly Maly. There is a sentence in her article that really caught my eye...."I want to leave my children evidence that I watched, paid attention, and loved them enough to tell the stories of their lives." This is exactly how I feel. My kids were actually sitting at the kitchen table looking thru our scrapbooks and just talking amongst themselves remembering each and every story. It was adorable. This is why I do this great hobby. To leave a legacy to those I love.

I've Been Scrapping part 1

Here are a few pages I have been working on these last few weeks. I have actually had time-loving it. I know the pictures are sideways but I do not know how to fix-computer challenged. I have been going thru so many pics and just got inspired again. I missed this.

I Won the Drawing !!!

This morning I got a call from the local scrapbook store. My name was picked in a drawing they had held. I was like,"shut up!" I was so stoked-I do not think I have ever won anything with a retail value of over $130.00. This was actually on my wish list for Christmas. So, I wanted to share a picture of what it is I won. It is called a Bind It All machine.Basically you can make any size mini book and it will punch holes in the pages and also bind it with the coils. It not only came with the machine but I also won the bag to store it in, the tools to work it, a packet of coils and the front and back chipboard for an album. How cool is that?

Our drawing game

Camden and I play a little drawing game-he loves it. We take turns making drawings of anything and then the other person draws something-we like to make jokes about each other. Like, I drew a picture of him watching Hannah Montana and he drew this picture. It made me laugh so incredibly hard I just about peed my pants. He said I was the little fly and that is his foot getting ready to stomp on me. He wrote,"Help me, I'm going to get squished" Man, I thought this was hilarious. The kid cracks me up. Who writes his material?

Blessed

I have been reading Ali Edwards blog for a while now and every year she chooses one word that is her "Word Of The Year". This year I decided to choose a word of the year also. My word is "Blessed". I just want to be reminded daily that I am truly blessed in all areas of my life. I have an awesome,hard-working man who loves his family. I have 2 energetic, full of life boys that are smart and funny and loving. I have a home to protect me from the elements. I have food to nourish my body. I have clothing to cover me. I have a Father in heaven who loves me know matter what I do or have done. I have the awesomest parents in the world and I thank God daily for the close relationship we have. I have 2 sweet sisters that would do anything for me. I have the cutest niece in the world. Just so many blessings. I need to just remember these when I am feeling blue or green with envy. So, this year I am Blessed.

Soccer in the cold

We had a relaxing day today. After church, we had a late lunch and then chilled. We watched Night at the Museum and Shrek the Third and just had a relaxing evening. It was nice considering it will be back to our normal schedule starting tuesday-when school starts back up again. I am looking forward to having a small break with the kids being in school but it was a nice break. Kids are very entertaining.

Box Boy

Ok, this happened the other night. Camden decided to sleep inside the box and sleep he did. He actually slept till around 3 am inside the box and then he wiggled out of it. I could not believe he slept so long inside it. What a weirdo. He did sleep like this for 3 nights in a row. I guess it would keep you warmer-good insulation.

You Know Your A Scrapbooker When...

I read this in one of my scrapbooking magazines and had to post the article.....

You Know Your A Scrapbooker When...
*You usually have a camera with you
*You wonder if you will ever get caught up
*You have tools your husband does not know how to use
*You pull buttons off old, used or outgrown clothes to use on a layout
*You know who Becky, Lisa, Ali, Jennifer, and Tim are
*The clerks in your local scrapbook store know you by name
*Your house is a mess because you have been scrapping all day
*You know what CK, CKU, CKC, HOF, SOY, KISS, and KOTM stand for
*You can spot an Elsie sticker faster than you can say, Louis Vuitton
*You check online galleries and blogs more often than you check the news
*You save the ribbon off Godiva chocolate boxes to use on your pages and cards
*You change your childs outfit to match the paper you just bought...so you'll have the perfect photo to go with the paper

I have to say that 99% of those are true. I am defintely a scrapbooker and love it.

Family Game Night

So again, more computer problems so I am posting stuff from yesterday. It was family game night tonight. The boys got Pictureka from Santa and we opened it tonight. We had so much fun. They loved it and did not want to quit playing. It is actually a very fun game to play-and challenging. I think I got last place. The boys are excellent players at this game. It was cute they were actually cheering each other on. Camden loves game night and reminds us several days before that game night is almost here. I was hoping to take a few pics but my camera batteries were beyond dead. So, next week. I did get some scrappin time in and was able to finish up a two page layout and start another one. I love capturing life on pages to help us remember our past. What a legacy to leave behind.

Goals not Resolution

We have been having major computer and internet access problems so I am just now able to get online. So we are pretending the day is Thursday, January 1st, 2009.Happy New Years Day!!! Dave and I and the kids did absolutely nothing to ring in the new year. I ended up falling asleep by 9:30 (Dave was snoring all night the night before and I was dragging all day).Dave made it to midnight-playing XBox 360. Bay and I were woken up at midnight by people setting off firecrackers to ring in the new year. So technically, I was up at midnight.

I have already said I am not making any resolutions this year-instead I am making a few goals that I believe I can reach....

1)Be happy with who I am-I suck at that so that is one that might take a long time to reach but I am willing to try.
2)Keep up with exercising-I have been exercising 4-5times a week for the past 6 weeks. Only have lost about 5 pounds but its been the holidays and I will not diet on or around holidays. That is just mean.
3)A better willpower-I love m&m's and cookies.Its my downfall.
4)Be in the moment-live in the now-Enough said
5) Most important:Be a good example for my kids in all areas. Be the mom they deserve. There was a reason these two are mine and I want to make them proud to call me their mom.

So those are my attainable goals for 2009. I am making scrapbooking goals also but am not finished thinking them thru yet. So here is to a brand new year.
