Pool Time With Daddy

Sunday, Dave and the boys played in the pool while I rested. It was actually quiet in the house. I tried to relax but had to at least sit in the kitchen and watch thru the window. It was way too hot to go out (106) The boys had a great time spending some quality time with daddy. I think daddy had fun too....

Well, there you go..."

So, Cam and I were driving monday (May 18th) to go pick up Bay from Cal Skate. Bay had received enough PR points and earned a trip with his class. So, we are driving and here is Camden and my conversation...
Camden:"Mom, can you guess what my favorite zoo animal is?"
Mom:"Um, a pink flamingo"
Camden:"No, that is yours."
Mom:"Can you give me a hint?"
Camden:"It is one of my nicknames you call me"
Mom:"Peanut"
Camden:"Mom, there is no zoo animal called a peanut"
Mom:"Oh, I know, monkey"
Camden:"Well, there you go."

Man, that kid sounds more like me everyday. I just died laughing. Just listening to him be sarcastic (like me) just cracks me up. I tease him and tell him he my personality clone. That just put such a smile on my face-I forgot about all my little aches and pains.

So, we get to Cal Skate. It used to be Roller Towne when I was little. Boy, it looks and sounds and smells almost the same-old, rundown and smells like stinky gym socks. But now Cam wants to go skating. Bay has gone twice with his class and Cam ofcourse brought up that point. So, I told him I would talk to daddy and see if maybe we could go sometime this summer. I cannot remember the last time I went rollerskating.Maybe when I was 12 -so in other words, its been a while. Hopefully I won't spend more time on the ground then actually up skating.I think that would be a fun family thing. I wonder if they still sell those long red licorice whips at the snack bar?

Catch up

So, I have been a bad blogger lately. This recovery is taking way too long and I am getting frustrated but I am on the mend. So, over the next couple days, I hope to catch up with some things that have been going on in our lives-and hopefully a few scrap pages and cards to share. Some will have pictures but some are just journaling. I just need to get a few things down so I do not forget them-my mind does not work like it used to. Man, having kids ruins brain cells but they are defintely worth it. So, here is to hoping to get it all done...

Bad Mama

I could just kick myself this morning. I knew there was something I forgot to do before I went to bed last night. Poor Bay wakes up and comes into our room near tears proclaiming the Tooth Fairy forgot him. Oh, I could just pinch myself. So quickly-I lied. I told him that I had heard a tinkering noise late last night in his room and went to go check and see what it was. I told him I must have scared the Tooth Fairy off before she could take his tooth or leave him money. So, he kind of perked up asking all sorts of questions about the Tooth Fairy. I told him to let Daddy answer a few while I check on Cam and then I ran like lightning for my purse. Luckily I had a dollar and change and hid it on his stool then ran back to see how he was. I told him maybe he should look around that she might have hid it elsewhere. Well, lo and behold, he found the treasure. And he was so happy. That is all that mattered-a big toothless grin on his sweet little freckled face.

Bay Loses His 7th Tooth

So, Bay just finishes eating dinner, puts his fingers in his mouth and yanks his tooth right out. That is crazy-considering the child is bothered by flies and almost ran out in the street because a bee was too close but yanking a tooth out is easy. Sometimes kids make absolutely no sense. Now, I am hoping I can stay up late enough and remember to turn into the Tooth Fairy-amidst my other jobs. Oh, a mothers job is never done.

Mother's Day part 1

This was one of the best Mother's day's I have ever had. It started off being able to sleep in till 8:30-but I got up a little earlier-not used to sleeping so late. Dave had taken the boys to get roses and a huge helium balloon. It is gigantic and I love it. They also got donuts-which we have like 1 to 2 times a year. Boy, do they taste good. And yes, had to have my morning oatmeal and then Dave also cooked up some yummy sausage. Now it was present time. I got a gift certificate for the scrapbook store from hubby. Camden made me a cute card and his handprint in a piece of tile. Bailey also made me a darling card and a homemade bookmark. They both worked so hard on their darling cards and gifts and were so proud of their accomplishments. Oh, to have such self confidence. So, after our bellies were full, and presents were unveiled, we got ready for the day. We left and went over to Color Me Mine-a paint your own pottery store. It was the first time for all of us and we had such a great time. Dave chose a large plate to paint-like the one they broke that was my "Special Plate" for birthdays and such. I chose a little ice cream cone that I can put little treats in to snack on while I scrap. Bailey chose a plate also and Camden chose a cup. We had a few little incidences-like Bay getting paint on my pants or water splashing all over but all in all, it was such fun. It was a little stressful with the kids-I told Dave I would like to go back on a date and paint together-a little bit more relaxed and able to focus more on what I am doing then running back and forth getting more paint or brushes or making sure the kids did not get paint everywhere or spill. He said that sounded like a great plan. I am pretty excited about that. We get to pick up our creations on saturday. I cannot wait to see them all finished. I want to display them on the hutch by the kitchen table-if the boys let me. I just want them to know how proud I am of them and how artistic they are. Oh, what they can do with a little paint....
