Celebration

Tomorrow is Dave's 2 year anniversary at Carmax.Camden and I picked up a mini cheesecake to put in his lunch and surprise him with . We just barely got it in his lunch without him seeing-and yes, Cam kept it a secret.
I am so grateful he has found such a great place to work with such great long term opportunities. We have had a bit of a rough financial time for about 10 months-being down to 4 days a week, but thru it all, so grateful, he was not let go. He loves it there-the people and the chance to prove himself daily. He has such a mechanical mind and loves to figure things out and fix them when they're broken. Its amazing to me. My mind just does not stretch that way.We are so grateful for his abilities and just so thankful for him. How much he loves his family and takes such great care of us. What more could you ask for?

Mess ?

This is what my living room has looked like the past two days. For most, this would seem like a disaster zone. But for my kids, this has been 2 afternoons of defending the galaxy. They have the awesomest imaginations-I do not think mine was ever this advanced. The way they can pick out any toy (doesn't have to be from the same set or company) and turn it into either a good guy or a bad guy. Just listening to the stories they come up with and their (Bay's) set of rules, is so cute. We have had as couple great days of getting along-I just pray it continues. Last week was a doozy so I have loved and prefer the way this week has gone. So what if my living room is a mess, I have had two boys getting along which in reality puts a huge smile on my face and a bounce in my step. Happy mom=happy family.

New Chores !!!

SO, I was getting tired of being everyones maid and since the boys are getting older, its about time they step up to the plate. So, we have added
new chores to the boys list. Before it was basically keeping their room clean, making their beds and picking up after themselves. Well, now there is taking out the trash and the recycling, setting and unloading the table and cleaning their own bathroom. I really like the last one. Boy's are messy and gross when it comes to using the potty so now they have to clean up after themselves.YEAH!! So today, after school, I showed them how to clean it.They actually did a pretty good job being their first time.In a couple months (if all goes well with this list) I am going to add on unloading the dishwasher and possibly sorting their own laundry. As a reward for all their help around the house, Cam will receive $5.00 and Bay will receive $7.00. I know that sounds like a ton of money but we may be actually spending less or about the same as what we are now. This way it puts them incharge of their own buying. In exchange for the large allowance, they will have to pay for their own book orders, snack shack, treats after school, toys, Chuck E Cheese tokens, etc..things that we would normally buy for them. All the extras that sure add up fast. We just spent $32.00 on 2 book orders for the month and $40.00 for 2 yearbooks. Man, kids are expensive-but ofcourse they are worth every dime.Hopefully this will help and teach them responsibility and a little bit of money planning (budget)-things school doesn't always teach. I know they are both still young and this is a big subject but you got to start somewhere. So, we will see how this goes. Wish us luck!!

Here is another layout I did with my kit from the scrapbook store. Megan and Janice (the owners) knew we were going to Legoland so my kit had lego papers and stickers. They are so great. Cannot wait for next months kit...

Bailey's new glasses

Wow-what a stud. He is so handsome in his new glasses. He was pretty excited to get them today. He asked if I could email his teacher and let her know he finally got his glasses. He can't wait to wear them in class. I just hope he takes good care of them.We had a big discussion on responsibility. Hopefully he takes it to heart. But, my gosh, how cute is he!!!

More pics at Sea World

A few more pics of the great time on our vacation. The boys slept so hard and fell asleep even before the lights went out. Wow-thats how you know they had a great time and are dog tired. Too bad we cant always wear them out like that.

Sea World (thursday the 19th)

We had such a great time at Sea World. It was an awesome vacation. The boys got to touch Bat Rays, a dolphin and star fish. They were so in awe of Shamu-ofcourse we had to sit in the soak zone and got drenched from head to toe. Here are just a few pics of them having a great time.
